The Centre cooperates closely with the Greek Ministry of Culture, The Fulbright Foundation in Greece, the cultural sections of various embassies, the European Union, and other educational and cultural organizations in Greece and overseas.

Tryfon Tolides, born in Korifi Voiou, Greece, completed a BFA in Creative Writing at the University of Maine, and an MFA at Syracuse University. He has received a Reynolds Scholarship, the 2004 Foley Poetry Prize, and his manuscript, An Almost Pure Empty Walking, a 2005 National Poetry Series selection, was published by Penguin in  July 2006. His work has appeared in America, Atlanta Review, Mondo Greco, Poetry Daily, Worcester Review, and elsewhere. He lives in Farmington, Connecticut.

Roger Green is an English poet living on the Greek island of Hydra.  Among his publications are several books of poetry, including With It or On It (2000).  His translation of the Akathistos Hymn by Romanos the Melodist was published in 1987.  His recent book, Hydra and the Bananas of Leonard Cohen  (Basic Books), is a “fantastically discursive ode to obsession and myth, relayed in a series of digressions that prove far more illuminating-and life-affirming-than the facts laid bare.”  He has also published a new collection, The Pyrofani Poems.

Anne Evans was born and raised in Wales, and now lives there once more.  She read English at Oxford, where she met Roger Green, with whom she shares this reading.  In 2007, she was a participant at the Muses’ Workshop in Spetses.  Ellie has been published widely in magazines and anthologies and has given readings at Bath Literary Festival, Dartington’s Ways with Words and the Hay-on-Wye Poetry Jamboree.  She is completing a thesis on Pascale Petit as part of her Ph.D.  Her first collection, The Fig-ripe Duchess, will be published by the Welsh firm, Seren, next year.
